Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist? Many adults who struggle with dental fear state that it is due to a bad or scary experience they had at the dentist during childhood. A pediatric dentist spends additional years training to understand and handle the unique needs that children have. Helping your child feel comfortable in the dental chair at a young age sets them up for success if the future, and there is no one better equipped to do this than a pediatric dentist.
Our primary goal is that we can meet your child's individual needs comfortably, and we hope that they look forward to their dental visits.
The First Visit
Your pediatric dentist in Beaumont along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your son or daughter begins seeing the dentist around the age of one-year-old. While this might seem early, it allows us to form that vital relationship with your child that will help them feel comfortable at their dental appointments. Dr. Meghanne can also start to monitor your little one's oral development so she can make you aware of any concerns early on.
The first visit for a young child will mostly be spent acclimating to the dental chair and examining and counting teeth. Dr. Meghanne loves to partner with parents and answer any questions or alleviate any concerns they may have about their child's oral health.
As your child gets older and feels more comfortable at the dentist, we will incorporate cleanings and fluoride treatments into their routine visits.
